Great review. This guy should be on TV. He’s got great diction, knows his material, and has a bit of a sense of humor. Well done. But bloody hell, couldn’t you get a few more pics of good looking girls? I’m sure they were at the track.

avannote…I’ve had …
avannote…I’ve had mine for about a week, and the stills are solid…not quite as sharp as the 50D, but that can all be taken care of in post…ISO range is also great…I took a shot of my son in near dark last night, with only TV light from 10 feet…ISO 1600…looked like a cloudy day shot…lol…that’s with the kit lens…trying the 50mm 1.8 prime tonight…haven’t got the HD video capture down quite yet, but there are examples everywhere for that…
Get thee to a Canon dealer…

what camera was …
what camera was used to shoot the footage of the reviewer? I’m seeing chromatic aberrations (vignetting) around the edges – am I the only one who sees that? I’m wondering if a DOF adapter and an old school lens was used on that footage…?

If it wasn’t for …
If it wasn’t for the ability to use my lenses, i wouldn’t even consider this angle. But you’re right, in the end it might not be worth the hassle.

@zackkw

No, …
@zackkw

No, shooting video uses a single shutter actuation, it lifts the mirror up and leaves it there for the whole of the length of the video clip – so shooting a video clip puts the same strain on the shutter as shooting a single still picture – and these cameras are rated at hundreds of thousands shutter actuations.

Plus, the sensor is absolutely fine, the camera is designed to shoot video in LiveView – no problems at all.
