you have to install …
you have to install the cd that comes with the camera. i forgot which one, but it should say that it installs on windows and mac, and then it lists the software. and then when it is done installing, connect camera through mini USB>USB and turn camera on. then go to EOS Utility (you just installed it) and then go to “Camera Settings/Remote Shooting” and there will be timers for time lapses and stuff as well! do some detailed research you will find some major set backs with the d5000. My primary reason for not buying the d5000 is the limit to 5min in HD video recording.

choline500, Thanx. I bought my first DSLR (Canon 500D (Kiss X3)) seven days ago in Thailand before I left for Malaysia and Singapore for my holidays. Shot more than 1000 pics and searched for add-ons 4 Days in Malaysia and 3 days in Singapore. All the shops I went recommended the Kiss X3 and mentioned I had made the right choice. I don’t know how to compare Kiss X3 with the competitors but with the all the pics and VDOs I have now, YEAH I am really satisfied with Kiss X3.
