http://www.robnunnphoto.com The EF 50mm f/1.8 belongs in the camera bag of every Canon photographer – it’s Canon’s cheapest lens, yet this great little prime offers sharp images, great low-light capability and fantastic selective focus options.

The 50mm is more like the 35mm equivalent of an 80mm on a crop sensor camera, it’s slightly telephoto, so you’ll find yourself moving back a little if you’re into landscapes – but it’s a great portrait focal length.

Build quality isn’t the best – but what do you expect for £100? Get one, stick it on your camera and have some fun.

Taken with my new Canon EF-S Telephoto zoom lens 55 mm – 250 mm F/4.0-5.6. I took a trip to the LA ZOO and just had to say I love this lens!
I was able to get close up at such a far distance. Very happy with my new lens!

Carnival Dream December 3rd

A compilation of videos from my familys 9-day itinerary aboard Carnival Cruise Lines newest vessel, The Carnival Dream. It was the the Dreams first trip from its home port of Cape Canaveral, Florida. We left Thursday, December 3, 2009, and spent the next 2 days as Fun Days at Sea. December 6, our first port of call was Antigua and Barbuda, a British Leeward Island. December 7, we were at Tortola, a British Virgin Island. We spent December 8th on the US Virgin Island of St. Thomas. December 9, we glanced at San Juan, Puerto Rico, and December 10th, we shopped in the small island of Grand Turk.

The Carnival Dream was beautiful, I enjoyed every second of it, I highly recommend it.

Making of Canon L Series 500mm F4L IS USM. Part 1 of 3 in the production of expensive camera gear. L series is Canon’s Premium lens line featuring fluorite lenses. IS refers to Image Stabilzation build into the lens, and USM refers to Ultrasonic Motor drive that makes focusing faster than older systems.

Currently I’m using a Rebel XT, although I’m thinking of upgrading to an XTi or 5DMk2. This 500 with the New 5D would be a sweet combination.

Helios 135mm f/2.8 M42 Lens Review (On Canon EOS 350d)

http://www.robnunnphoto.com A bargain prime lens I got from a local car-boot sale for about a fiver.

The Helios 135mm f/2.8 offers a fixed focal length (no zoom), so you’ve got to move your feet to recompose or change the framing of your photographs – not a bad thing when it comes to expanding your artistic vision.

M42 lenses need an M42 – EF lens mount adapter, available on eBay for a few pounds, you’ve got to focus manually, but they’re perfectly usable.

Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 Prime Lens Review – On My Canon EOS 350d / Digital Rebel XT

http://www.robnunnphoto.com Another lens I bought from eBay a few months ago. The Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 is a prime lens, which means there’s no zoom, but it offers great image quality and a pretty fast (wide) aperture for a bargain price.

Offering about the equivalent of a 45mm lens on a crop sensor dSLR like my 350d / Rebel XT, it’s great for landscapes or portraits where you need that extra angle of view.

Watch out for some barrel distortion at the edges, but overall I love this lens, and it’s the one that I always leave on my camera.
